Mike Haggerty Buick/GMC Volkswagen and McCann’s Irish Oatmeal present The Houli’s Hooley and this week Clay is back with the Houli brothers and he is welcomed warmly, telling us his kid had the SRV virus, “Stevie Ray Vaughn”, but is back home now and on the mend. Lots of Bears talk tonight, particularly a guy named Cody Parky, who obviously did not eat his McCann’s Irish oatmeal before his season ending field goal attempt last week. The lads welcome their old pal, comedian Pat Chase, back to the show and he is headlining this Sunday night at the Improv in Schaumburg so spread the word to all the Schaumburgese. Pat has funny stories about watching videos of his stand-up act to make it better, “time outs” for kids vs your standard beatin’, and a new idea for child discipline involving a hockey penalty box with lots of pictures of Freddy Krueger to scare the kids. They also cover the choice of “costume” for comics these days from leather jackets to turtlenecks etc. Then international Irish comic Des Bishop calls in. Des is making his Chicago debut this weekend at Zanies and he and the lads talk about his amazing career, including playing clubs in China and doing jokes in Mandarin. Wild stuff! Then Paddy tells a rather disturbing story about meeting a stranger at the bar who is a chef but also a world champion video gamer who invited Paddy back to his back porch for a demo of his talents. Pat Chase has a similar story about a gig in Iowa when a girl with a tiger tattoo on her face invited him home with her. Very funny show, check it out and tell your pals!
