Lt. Ray McInerney CPD
Podcast Sat. February 9, 2019
McCann’s Irish Oatmeal and Mike Haggerty Buick/GMC/Volkswagen present Hibernian Radio, continuing our salutes to Irish First Responders this week we welcome Lieutenant Ray McInerney to the show. Ray grew up with his two brothers, the three sons of a Chicago Firefighter, in St. Basil’s parish. Ray is going on his 28th year as a Chicago cop. He’s worked gang and gun units and has seen it all. Friends call him “a cop’s cop”. He brings us some great stories from the job, but also some great insight, “It takes a special person to be a good policeman, you gotta communicate. It’s all about relationships.” He’s seen babies brought back to life on the job and loves chasing the bad guys, God bless him. Chicago is lucky to have guys on the job like Ray McInerney. After some in depth “Who Died?” and a shout out to Sun-Times obit writer Maureen O’Donnell, we head over to “Houli-Town” for some laughs. Who cares if the joke is kinda dodgy? Some great music on the show this week as well, including “Holy Ground”. Don’t forget our old friend Jimmy Deenihan’s favorite charity event coming up at The Drake on Feb. 22nd. https://kerrygaachicago2019.com/
