Paddy Houlihan, Bill Houlihan, and Clay O’Brien

McCann’s Irish Oatmeal and Mike Haggerty Buick/GMC/Volkswagen present The Houli’s Hooley and we start the show with Bill’s Lori LIghtfoot impression. Clay is out this week as he takes his family to Florida for the week…in the car! Our old pal Vinnie Mammoser sits in for Clay and is a great sub for the OB, since Vinnie and the Houli’s go way back, to grade school in 1991 when they first met the musician. Once we’ve welcomed Vinnie to the show, it’s off to the races with: Easter recap, Bill doesn’t like jelly beans on the floor, the Easter pub crawl in Forest Park as folks hunted for eggs in each gin mill, Vince wore a “Clay uniform” for the show, which he describes as his “washed up Irish gangster” look, Paddy’s film school story, his apartment on Clark street while a Columbia student, Vinnie’s regular gigs performing at Mollie’s in Riverside, fat guy shirts, Vinnie cut his hair, The Ultimate Handyman Fighting Championships, WWE stock stories, Wrigley Field and the Putin-Ricketts connection, old playground stories, Wahlbergers, Tom Selleck, Twisted Shamrock, Barney Callaghan’s, Vinny in the market for a car-“go to Haggerty’s”, and Vinny closes the show with a beautiful tribute to their late friend Lacey with his cover of the Warren Zevon tune, “Keep Me In Your Heart For Awhile”-really nice. Don’t miss Vinny Mammoser at Fitzgerald’s in Berwyn on May 11th performing with “Haymakers’, from the Ramones to The Stones. Gotta see that show!
