McCann’s Irish Oatmeal, Mike Haggerty Buick/GMC/Volkswagen and Personal Injury Attorney Caroleann Gallagher present Hibernian Radio. As we continue our focus on Irish First Responders, we welcome author and 30-year veteran Chicago Police Dept. Sgt. Larry Casey ret. Larry has written a terrific book, “Stories of A Chicago Police Offer”, which is not only enlightening to the day-to-day work of cops, but also hilarious and at times heart breaking. Larry grew up in Edison Park, went to Immaculate Conception, and then St. Pat’s HS before joining the police force. Between his Irish emigrant grandfather, (Big John Casey from Cork), his father, and himself, they have over 100 years on the CPD! Larry is a firm believer in his motto, “the best stress reliever is humor”, and his 170 stories in the book back him up. Larry tells many of his best stories on the show today so you have to tune in, his Uncle Paul story is priceless! Larry also taught criminology at Wright Junior College for ten years and regales us with tales of teaching gangbangers the finer points of Constitutional Law! This guy is awesome, get the book, you will love it. Then Mitch Zeiler drops by the show to tell us about his Cruise For A Cause event coming up on The Odyssey cruise ship on Sat. July 13th to help a handful of worthy charities. Mitch is doing “good in the hood’, and we salute this young philanthropist in action. If you’re looking to give back to those less fortunate and combine it with a romantic, fireworks filled, night on the lake, join Mitch and his crew on Sat. July 13th for Cruise for The Cause. Then some obits, (special shout out to Snooki Sullivan), and a preview of Country on Western this Saturday at Barney Callaghan’s Irish Pub. Be there!

Thanks for listening, great show this week, check it out!
