Jim Bailey
McCann’s Irish Oatmeal, Haggerty Buick/GMC/Volkswagen and Personal Injury Attorney Caroleann Gallagher present The Hibernian Radio Hour and this week we welcome CPD Field Training Officer, Jim Bailey, to the show. Jim is a Mount Greenwood native who has been on the force for 25 years. He is an active member of both the CPD Hockey team and Triathlon team. His father joined the CPD in ’68 and they spent 11 years on the force together, with Jim receiving his father’s star after he retired. He and Houli discuss the currently challenging police culture, Jim’s Irish heritage and we hear some of his favorite stories from his time on the force. This guy has many stories to tell! We take a quick look at this week’s obituaries followed by a short interview with Chubbs Polfus from McGaffer’s Saloon. They are hosting their annual ‘Christmas with a Cause’ event on Saturday, December 7th so be sure to stop by and bring some gifts to donate to local charities. We also hear another short interview with Vincent English from the Achill Island Heritage Center who will be hosting a talk at St. Xav’s on Monday, December 2nd. Don’t forget we will be hosting our 2nd Annual Hibernian Hooligan Ball at McGaffer’s Saloon on Sunday, December 15th. A jam-packed show this week with some great guests!
