Dan Burke

McCann’s Irish Oatmeal, Haggerty Buick/GMC/Volkswagen and Personal Injury Attorney Caroleann Gallagher present The Hibernian Radio Hour and in keeping with our First Responders theme, this week we have 30 year Cook County Sheriff’s Office retired veteran, Dan Burke, on the show. Dan grew up in Norwood Park where he attended St. Thecla Catholic School. He’s a Gordon Tech graduate and he spent some time as a Correctional Officer before joining the force. Dan opens up about his father’s legacy as President of the Emerald Society and founder of the Bagpipes & Drums of the Emerald Society. Dan also shares some stories of his own from his time in the Narcotics Gang Unit and investigating extensive burglaries and murders. This guy is the real deal with some very interesting stories to tell! Houli brings us up to speed on this week’s obituaries and Irish American News. We hear from Chubbs Polfus from McGaffer’s Saloon, who are hosting their annual ‘Christmas with a Cause’ event on Saturday, December 7th so be sure to stop by and bring some gifts to donate to local charities. Don’t forget we will be hosting our 2nd Annual Hibernian Hooligan Ball on Sunday, December 15th at McGaffer’s Saloon so come join us in the celebrations! We take a well-needed trip to ‘Houli-town’ for some crazy craic to close out this week’s show.
