Paddy Houlihan, Bill Houlihan, and Clay O’Brien

Fox’s Pizza, Guinness, The Cork and Kerry Irish Pub, Madden Funds and Flood Brothers Disposal present The Houli’s Hooley with Paddy on his own this week, manning the reigns while Billy is off on his fishing trip. We have a special “Best Of..” show this week looking back at some of our favorite segments from this year so far, specially chosen by Paddy and Producer Mike! The first segment we take a look back on is a recent interview with local comedic legend, Sean Flannery. Sean has a weekly comedy show called “The Blackout Diaries” and a new book called “Places I Can’t Return To”. He chats about the book and how his crazy drinking experiences inspired each chapter. He broke his back in three places when he fell off a roof and shares the story about sitting in the handicapped section at Yankee stadium the following day. He chats to the guys about moving from Cleveland to Chicago at 23 years old and how he got into stand-up comedy 4 years later. He was a part of a comedy group called “The Blerds” and shares some of the mischief they got up to. “It’s very hard to be as prolific as you are!” – Paddy. Sean delves into his comedy podcast, “The Blackout Diaries”, the inspiration and the success surrounding it. These three chat about twins being mistaken for one another and Sean tells the brothers about what makes a great drinking story. He also shares the best drinking story he has ever heard about a Vietnam General who slipped past the cops at a checkpoint. This guy is a Chicago treasure and compares the similarities between Cleveland and Chicago. Plenty of laughs between the 4 guys! We head over to our second segment from June surrounding Paddy meeting some younger women at a baseball game. What do you do when beautiful women sit in your seats? Paddy is here to advise! “500 Singles”, a new movie about women who turn to stripping. What is appropriate baseball attire? Paddy‘s giving off creepy Producer vibes with these female baseball fans.. Aka: How not to chat up women! The lads have genuine concerns for the young women of Chicago, especially seeing as they look much older than they are. Then we head over to revisit a hilarious segment from February beginning with Clay stating “There’s been some bumbling going on…”. Paddy and Billy are officially bumblebees aka: They’re on the Bumble dating app. Clay suggests a 2-for-1 discount! They discuss stereotypical dating profile photos and come up with some very interesting profile ideas. How safe are these apps guys? They’re looking for Redwood climbers and smokers, ladies! “Pretty Thrifter” – hear the hot new Houli‘s Hooley track here first! Look out for Houli‘s Hooley stickers at urinals and bars… We take a musical break with “Lola” by The Kinks. We return to end the show with some more Bumble chat with Paddy sharing some experiences of being recognized on a dating app.
