Irish Troubador Kevin Flynn

This week’s show is a unique one as we welcome back our old friend Kevin Flynn. The singer, songwriter, storyteller, and satirist born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. Primarily known for his work as front man for underground rock outfit kiss n ride (1994-2005) and Irish-folk group Kevin Flynn & The Avondale Ramblers (2006-2015), Kevin now performs solo and we’re lucky to welcome him to the Big Corner Tavern for this mini concert of one of Irish America’s great poets and songwriters. We talk to Kevin briefly before he launches into a handful of terrific original tunes, including HERE WE GO, SOMETHIN’S GOIN’ DOWN, COPY & PASTE, THE BALLAD OF A LOCAL, and he warbles plaintively into the night with his guitar and harmonica on THE LUCKY ONES and MOVE ON AHEAD, and finally finishes with his anthem of insomnia for his wife, there must be SOMETHING MORE THAT WE CAN GET OUT OF THIS NIGHT. Kevin Flynn is just flat out mesmerizing. Then it’s over to the obits, plugs for The Emerald Society’s “Halfway to Paddy’s Day” event and one final dirty joke from Houli Town  on this week’s very special show with the one and only Kevin Flynn. He’ll be back!
