Hannan O’Connell and Aubrey Sirman

Fox’s Pizza in Orland Park & Mokena, Guinness, Madden Funds and Flood Brothers Disposal present the Hibernian Radio Hour at our newest recording location known as ‘The Bunker’ and this week we begin the show with the latest segment of ‘Black Irishman’ which tells the story of Seamus O’Hooligan Jr, starring Greg Hollimon. Our guests this week are Hannah O’Connell from Emeralds GAA and Aubrey Sirman from Naperville Hurling & Camogie Club. Aubrey is originally from Florida and began playing with Naperville Hurling & Camogie club in 2015. Hannah is from County Waterford, Ireland and has been playing football since she was a kid. She has been living in the States for a year and a half and shares the story of how she got started with the football club.  Hannah and Aubrey give Houli a lesson in some basic Gaelic football rules and they explain the difference between hurling and camogie for our listeners. Both football and camogie are action-packed, competitive sports but luckily neither of these ladies have ever suffered any serious injuries while playing. The Naperville Hurling & Camogie Club are currently hosting a Co-Ed Indoor League on Saturday mornings and Aubrey encourages our listeners to check it out. Sourcing their hurley sticks from Ireland, their field positions and the importance of socializing with teammates are just some of the other topics these two wonderful guests discuss with Houli. Aubrey and Hannah end a great interview with a reminder about the upcoming Recruitment Event on April 28th from 7am – 9am at Naperville Yard. So get out and sign up! Houli then brings us up to date with some upcoming events including some St. Patrick’s Day events followed by the obituaries. Then it’s over to our favorite place known as ‘Houli-Town’ to end another wonderful show this week!
