Seamus O’Hooligan, ‘Black Irishman’

Fox’s Pizza in Orland Park & Mokena, Guinness, Madden Funds and Flood Brothers Disposal present the Hibernian Radio Hour at our newest recording location known as ‘The Bunker’ and we’d like to begin by wishing all our listeners a Happy St. Patrick’s Day! We have a very special show for you this week with the first six segments along with the newest seventh segment of ‘Black Irishman’ starring Second City veteran actor Greg Hollimon as Seamus O’Hooligan Jr. Greg is best known for his work on Comedy Central’s “Strangers with Candy”. Hollimon grew up in the Chicago housing projects of Cabrini-Green and began taking improv classes in ’86. After graduating from The Players Workshop, he enrolled at The Second City and was hired into their National Touring Company where they visited colleges and universities all over the country. Cultures bounce off each other as Hollimon brings his comedic timing and Basso profondo voice to Seamus O’Hooligan Jr. Seamus was born after his African mother met his Irish father at Woodstock, and the ensuing tryst creates many a twist for the young Seamus as he makes his way through the world. His journey is not without its difficulties, both comic and heart breaking, as he goes in search of his Irishness. The show was conceived and written by Mike Houlihan and Greg Hollimon, with Mike also playing Seamus Sr. Each episode introduces Seamus Jr in this throwback to the days of comic radio soap opera with a special Irish twist of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and of course, plenty of shenanigans! Houli treats us to a brief interview with the local legend himself, Greg Hollimon and these two pals discuss the future of Black Irishman and its potential to become an adult cartoon – exciting things to come, folks! Then we head over to the recent obituaries followed by a trip to ‘Houli-Town’. Be sure to tune in to hear this new ground-breaking comic adventure!
