Enda Monaghan

Fox’s Pizza in Orland Park & Mokena, Guinness, Madden Funds and Flood Brothers Disposal present the Hibernian Radio Hour at our newest recording location known as ‘The Bunker’ and we begin the show with another episode of ‘Black Irishman’ which tells the story of Seamus O’Hooligan Jr, starring Greg Hollimon. This week we welcome a J1 student from Ireland, Enda Monaghan, who is the nephew of Houli’s old pal, Mike Monaghan. Enda has been working at Beverly Country Club since he arrived in Chicago back in June and jumps into some of the duties he had at that job including valeting and working on the golf range. Houli shares the time he met Enda’s uncle in Manhattan at the Blarney Stone Pub back in the ’70s and he has a few stories to share from his own experience at Beverly Golf Club. Enda lives in Mayo and mentions some of the biggest differences he noticed between Ireland and Chicago’s south side while living here. He shares his plan to travel with his girlfriend and their friends for the remainder of his stay, visiting the west coast including Vegas and San Francisco. Enda chats about his family back in Ireland and mentions some of the Chicago celebrities he ran into while working at the club. Houli then brings us up to date on some upcoming events including Skinny & Houli’s trip to Ireland in October and the 10th Annual Irish American Movie Hooley which will begin on September 27th. Paddy Houlihan joins us this week to discuss the Movie Hooley’s success and these two take a look at this year’s incredible lineup including the award-winning ‘Kneecap’. Then it’s over to the obituaries followed by a trip to ‘Houli-Town’ hosted by Paddy!
