Flood Bros. Disposal, Madden Funds, Fox’s Pizza, and Local 150 Operating Engineers present Hibernian Radio and this week Paddy Houlihan welcomes venture capitalist and founder of Ceol & Craic Trasna na dTonnta Kevin O’Shea to the show. “Ceol & Craic etc.” is Kevin’s not for profit organization, which means Music and Fun Over the Waves. Kevin has five children and ten grand-children and founded the group when he was widowed a few years back, kids all grown, and he started looking for a hobby. “Well I like to sit in Irish pubs and listen to music” No greater hobby! It’s turned into a thing. Kevin invites musicians to visit Chicago and perform and they stay with him in his five-bedroom home in Elmhurst. The craic is mighty! Kevin’s latest project is the “Irish Village” scheduled for Sat. March 15th, from 10-4PM on the Pioneer Court plaza of the Equitable building, (soon to house the Irish Consulate), 401 North Michigan, and just above the river where they dye the Chicago River green that morning for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. There will be music, food, Kerry Gold, Bailey’s, The Dirty Wellies, Irish books from Houli, Kevin selling t-shirts and plenty of vendors bringing the Irish home to Chicago and loads of craic available that day as the Irish of Chicago kick off St. Patrick’s Day in style. Hope to see you all there on Saturday March 15th at 401 North Michigan Avenue. Be there! Then it’s on to the weekly obits, a tune by the Coronas “Just Like That”, and a final joke from Houli Town.
